A California woman who was paralyzed during back surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center may receive $1.6 million under a proposed settlement being considered by Los Angeles County officials today. If county officials initially approve the settlement, the matter will go before the county Board of Supervisors for final approval. Contra Costa Times
