$10 Million Settlement For Work Accident

The Legal Intelligencer reported, In a deal struck just moments before jury selection was set to begin, a company agreed Friday to pay $10 million to a construction worker who was paralyzed in a fall while erecting a pallet rack, plaintiffs lawyers said. One of the key issues that would have been important at trial was whether the worker who was hired by a temporary services agency, had legally become the equivalent of a company employee under the so-called ‘borrowed servant' doctrine.
