The family of a 90-year-old Alzheimer's patient claims poor care by a suburban nursing home allowed 57 maggots to grow in her ear, according to a lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court.

A $3.375 million lawsuit over the death of a 20-year-old Ohio college student at a University of Pennsylvania frat party has been settled with the parents of the victim. The student fell over a stairway railing onto his head, suffering a traumatic brain injury. The suit accused the fraternity of serving alcohol to the underage student and claimed a local store allowed him to buy beer earlier in the night.
