A jury has awarded $3 million to the daughter of a 79-year-old woman who died after she was reportedly given a large dose of morphine. The doctor deviated from the standard of care because he administered too much morphine too quickly and failed to notify the family, according to the lawsuit. An attorney for the doctor said they had not decided whether to appeal the verdict. Law.com.
