How Long Does A Child Have In Maryland To File A Lawsuit for Injuries?

Posted by Frank Spector | Dec 30, 2011 | 0 Comments

This question comes up a lot.  It is important to know that there are time limits in Maryland as to when a lawsuit must be filed in Court. You should speak with a lawyer to answer any question you have about these deadlines.

At our law firm, we handle cases of injuries which occur at birth or when a child is under the age of 18.  In these cases, the claim for the child has to be filed on or before the child's 21st birthday.  In some cases, parents may have spoken to another lawyer before who could not help them.  Time may go by and the child is now a teenager and the parents think it's too late to do anything.  That's why I am writing this blog today.

EVEN IF YOUR CHILD IS A TEENAGER YOU SHOULD STILL CALL TO SPEAK WITH US.  We have taken on cases for teenagers even in cases of injuries that have happened at birth.  While each case is different and we would need to speak with you to get the facts of your case before giving legal advice about the timeliness of your child's case, you should NOT think that its too late.

So call us toll free at 1-800-299-HURT to discuss your child's case. Or you can email us at [email protected].  Our contact form on this page gives you the chance to tell us about your case 24/7.
