Last week, Maryland's highest court decided a case involving a dog attack by a pit bull. The Court decided that owners of pit bulls can be held responsible even if the dog had not attacked or bitten someone before. The Court also decided that a landlord who rents to a pit bull owner can also be held responsible.
In Maryland, there is what is known as a one bite rule which means that if your dog bites someone and its the first time and you had no knowledge that your dog would do this, you were not responsible.
This case changes that.
No matter how you feel about pit bulls, there was evidence that they are more dangerous than other breeds.
