Nursing Home Class Action in Washington State

The parents of a woman who died after her tracheal tube became clogged hours after being admitted to a Washington state nursing home have filed a lawsuit against the facility. According to the lawsuit, which seeks class-action status, thousands of people may have been affected by substandard care at Aldercrest Health & Rehabilitation Center and other facilities owned by Extendicare Homes Inc. The potential class could cover all patients treated at the facility between 2004 and August 2008.
