Patient Dies While Waiting In ER

A hospital is under scrutiny after a man died after waiting nearly 19 hours for treatment. The family of the decedent said that such wait times at the Parkland Memorial Hospital emergency room were not uncommon and that he had waited longer before receiving treatment in the past. A 2004 study found that Parkland patients waited an average of more than 7 hours before receiving care and admitted patients waited 13 hours before receiving a bed. Patrick McGee, Ft.
